Mamelodi Sundowns have added two additions to their technical team, and are looking for a bright start to the second round of the PSL season.
The Brazilians have announced on their official website that Dr Carl Tabane and physical trainer Zac van Heerden are now working for the Chloorkop-based club.
“Mamelodi Sundowns have welcomed two additions to the technical team, in the form of a team doctor Dr Carl Kgabo Tabane and physical trainer Zac van Heerden,” reads the statement on Sundowns’ website.
The two gentlemen were part of Gordon Igesund’s technical team during the ongoing 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but have joined Sundowns even before the end of the tournament, since Bafana Bafana are no longer part of the Afcon.
Sundowns have also made it clear that Zac van Heerden will take over from the current physical trainer, after their much anticipated league clash against Kaizer Chiefs next Tuesday.
“Experienced Brazilian trainer Helvecio Pessoa travelled with the team throughout the midseason camp in Van Heerden’s absence, and will be staying until the match against Kaizer Chiefs,” revealed Sundowns on their website.
Meanwhile, Sundowns fans should expect more changes to their technical team, as there are rumours that coach Pitso Mosimane is willing to bring former Bafana Bafana assistant coach Julio Leal on board.
Mosimane is currently assisted by former Sundowns midfielder Alex Bapela, after the team fired two of their long serving members in Harold Legodi and Jan Dirks earlier this year.
