Goal.com has been informed that Moroka Swallows will have Siyabonga Nomvete back when the PSL season resumes next weekMoroka Swallows striker Siyabonga Nomvete has fully recovered from an injury that sidelined him for the better part of the first half of the season.
Swallows’ coach Zeca Marques is a relieved man and told Goal.com that he hopes Nomvete will help the team just like he did last season, when Moroka Swallows finished second in the PSL table.
“We had a bad run this season, and it was all due to individual mistakes, but I hope we have sorted that problem out,” said Marques.
“Nomvete is back. It (the injury) had a huge negative effect on us, I mean he helped us last season and I hope he continues doing that,” he said.
When asked why Moroka Swallows did not sign any significant players during the recent transfer window despite struggling, Marques revealed that the team does not have the budget to sign any top players.
“We couldn’t sign players because we have a limited budget, and I don’t think we need any top player at this stage,” said Marques.
Nevertheless, the Dube Birds have promoted Michael Da Silva to the first team after he impressed the technical team.
