Maluleka sat out of his team’s 1-0 win against Bloemfontein Celtic in a Reconciliation Cup on Sunday afternoon, and the unfortunate news was confirmed to him late on Monday.
“I can confirm that George went for a scan on Monday and he’s torn his ligament. He will be out for at least six weeks,” revealed a member of the medical team.
The former Ajax Cape Town midfielder was hoping to make an impression when Supersport United visit Orlando Pirates in a PSL clash next week Wednesday.
Matsatsantsa ended 2012 on a high note, defeating Ajax Cape Town 2-1 and will be hoping to improve their position on the log table.
United have managed only three wins in their last 16 league games and are sitting on 8th position with 20 points.
