Mamelodi Sundowns injury list now down to just three
Veteran goalkeeper Calvin Marlin and top striker Katlego Mphela resumed training this week as they seek to complete the long road to recovery while struggling Mamelodi Sundowns are hoping to have Lebogang Mokoena back fit before the end of the month.
The trio represent the last of the Sundowns players who still have to come off the treatment table after a spate of injury setbacks for the cub.
Marlin, who has played only a handful of games over last three seasons, has been out since July with a hip injury.
Mphela is working his way back after knee surgery which he underwent in late June. His recovery has taken longer than expected and his absence not only been felt by Sundowns, who are in the relegation zone, but also Bafana Bafana.
Nippy winger Mokoena has been struggling since the start of the season although has already seen some game time in the new campaign.
Players like Antony Laffor, Richard Henyekane, Nyasha Mushekwi and Elias ‘Dominguez’ Pelembe have all recovered from niggling injuries while Teko Modise made his comeback last weekend in the defeat at home to Platinum Stars.
