Defender Ahmed Alouani has been called up to take the place of Ali Salama who is facing a two-match suspension from Caf
Libya coach Abdelhafid Erbiche announced on Monday he had invited Club Sportif Hammam-Lif defender Ahmed Alouani to replace key left back Ali Salama of Tunisia’s Olympique Beja, who was handed a two-match suspension by Caf in the wake of match incidents during the Libya-Algeria clash on September 9 in Casablanca, Morocco in the first leg of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying.
Algeria scrambled a lone goal win and will host the Mediterranean Knights in the reverse fixture on October 14 at the Mustapha Tchaker Blida.
Coach Erbiche said he would be doing without another defender Younes Al-Shibani of Egyptian side Ismaily due to injury as well as Al Ahly’s Hamed Snousi, who declined invitation to camp follow family engagements.
The Libyan team began preparations last Wednesday at the Hammam Bourguiba resort in Ain Draham, northwest of Tunisia and will leave for Algeria on October 12, according to the coach.
