Boebie Solomons has been relieved off his duties as the head coach of Polokwane City just five games into the new season, Goal can confirm
The 59-year-old former Bloem Celtic coach is the second coach to be fired since the beginning of the season, joining Cavin Johnson who was dismissed by SuperSport United just last Friday.
Speaking exclusively to Goal, Rise and Shine communications manager Abel Mohubedu confirmed that the club has decided to sack Solomons and his assistant Junior Morake.
"Yes, I can confirm that we have decided parted ways with our former coach Mr Solomons and his assistant(Junior Morake)," Mohubedu told Goal.
Since winning their first Absa Premiership game against University of Pretoria 1-0 away, the Limpopo-based club has been on a losing streak.
They lost their last four league games, while conceding a whopping 10 goals in five matches so far this term, and that forced the club to bring in Junior Bhengu and Bernard Molekwa to take over from as new coaches.
"In addition to that Junior Bhengu and Bernard Molekwa have taken over as new coaches of Polokwane City Football Club," he said.
Meanwhile, Cavin Johnson is already linked with the coaching job at City, but Mohubedu refuted these reports, adding that the club hasn't spoken to anyone regarding the job.
"Lastly, we do not have any plans to hire a new coach from outside in the pipeline at the moment," he concluded.
