Still no Moeneeb Josephs in the Bafana camp

Goal has learned that the South African Football Association (Safa) is still trying to get hold of Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs.

Josephs was named in the Bafana squad that will represent SA in the Chan tournament which gets underway in the next six days.

However, the association revealed yesterday that Josephs is unreachable on his cellphone although he is thought to be around Cape Town.

The 33-year-old former Orlando Pirates shot-stopper once retired from international football saying that he needs to spend more time with his family.

He then reversed his decision and made himself available for the national team, so coach Gordon Igesund selected him for Chan.

Josephs, who has kept close to 10 clean sheets for his club Bidvest Wits, is expected to join the rest of his Bafana teammates as soon as he becomes available.

And although it is unlikely that Josephs will get to start ahead of Khune during the tournament, his experience will be valuable to the team.
