Fiorentina make loan offer for Quagliarella
The former Napoli man could be on the move in the January transfer window as the Viola are looking to add some fresh blood to their attack
EXCLUSIVEBy Romeo Agresti
Fiorentina have made a loan move for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella, as they aim to further strengthen their attack this winter, Goal.com can reveal.
The Viola recently signed Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal, but the Italy international is still recovering from a knee injury and it could be a while before he is ready to make his comeback.
As a result, Fiorentina are keen to sign another forward in the January window, and they have earmarked the 29-year-old Quagliarella as a valuable addition.
The Artemio Franchi outfit are looking to sign the attacker on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make his stay at the club permanent come June.
The Bianconeri turned down an offer from Wolfsburg for Quagliarella earlier this winter as they insisted the player still has a role to play at Juventus Stadium.
Nevertheless, they could be open to letting the striker move to Vincenzo Montella's side as they aim to improve their relationship with the Viola ahead of a potential move for Stevan Jovetic in the future.
Relations turned sour between the two clubs last summer, after they both attempted to sign Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United ahead of this season.
Juve are in ongoing talks with Olympique Lyonnais over a loan deal for Lisandro Lopez, while former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka, currently under contract with Shanghai Shenhua, is seen as an alternative as well.
