Rolland Courbis believes that Thiago Silva deserved to be sent off on the stroke of half-time during Paris Saint-Germain's 1-1 draw with Valenciennes.
The Brazilian received his marching orders for seeming to tug on the referee's elbow and the former Olympique de Marseille and Bordeaux coach believes his experience should have been more mature.
"We can not say that the red card for Thiago Silva is harsh," told RMC Sport.
"We're talking about the best central defender in the world, who is required to be a master of himself, to have composure."
A late Alex header rescued a point for Carlo Ancelotti's side against the Nord outfit at the Parc des Prince on Sunday.
The Parisians will now have to wait until May 12's trip to the Stade de Gerland to face Olympique Lyonnais to secure their first Ligue 1 crown in 19 years.
