The French capital club coach believes that a victory over the Portuguese outfit will go a long way towards qualification for the knockout stages of Europe's elite tournamentCarlo Ancelotti believes that Paris-Saint Germain's clash with Porto on Wednesday will show if PSG possess the mettle to compete in the Champions League.
The Italian manager saw his side kickstart their European campaign with a 4-1 win over Dynamo Kiev ar Parc des Princes, but he believes the game against the Dragoes will show where his team stands currently.
"In our group, Porto is the team that has the most experience in the Champions League," he told France Football.
"For us, playing here on this pitch is a good test to see what level we are at.
"It will be difficult. Porto have an attacking game to win and we have to keep our shape. But this is a good time to come here. And if we win, we will have taken a step against the best team in the group."
The former Chelsea boss also believes that his opponents have not lost any of their threat after the sale of Hulk to Zenit St Petersburg .
"Porto have not been weakened by his [Hulk's] departure because the team has a very good identity. They have played the same football for years, even with changing several players. And in the Champions League, the most important thing is to have courage and personality."
Finally, the 53-year-old had words of praise for returning defender Thiago Silva.
"I am very satisfied with what he [Thiago Silva] has already done. He arrived at a time when the team was getting better defensively. And during the last few games, we were very good in this area."
