Cesare Prandelli has insisted that Italy still have plenty of room for improvement as he continues to rejuvenate the national side.
The national team coach has introduced players such as Mattia Destro, Lorenzo Insigne and Marco Verratti since this summer's European Championship, and he's determined to turn Italy into an attractive team.
"I am not saying that we are an open building site, but I happily admit that Italy are still a work in progress," Prandelli stated to ANSA.
"We have got to be more daring on the pitch and show more initiative. We have to find our own identity as we try to play attacking football.
"I realise that I do not have much time as national team coach, but we can create a spectacular national team if we are all aiming for the same goal."
Italy have collected four points from two games in their 2014 World Cup qualification group.
