thumbnail Hello,

The Netherlands legend gave a running commentary on the game on Twitter as part of Heineken's 'Share The Sofa' evening - but has grave concerns for his former club

Another late show saw AC Milan overcome Celtic 2-0 in their Champions League group stage opener on Wednesday - but that wasn't enough to hide their frailties from Rossoneri legend Ruud Gullit.

The 51-year-old tweeted his thoughts on the game for Heineken throughout the encounter, as part of their '#ShareTheSofa' night, and was left distinctly unimpressed with Massimiliano Allegri's men as a Sulley Muntari strike and Emiliano Izaguirre's own goal secured victory.

Goal compiled a list of our favourite tweets from the Netherlands legend during and after the game, as he gave his insight on everything from Milan's tactical naivety to Mario Balotelli, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi...

GULLIT ON MILAN'S FAILINGS

"Milan are leaving a lot of room for counters. Their diamond shape means a lot of guys in front of the ball."

"I see so many Milan players walking. They can see the opposition doing better things than them."

"Individual talent is what's decided this game, not Milan playing well as a team."

GULLIT ON THE ROSSONERI'S RECENT PLIGHT

"The Milan crowd is spoiled with winning - they have to have patience."

"It's still a compliment to Milan, that they had to sell players and are still in #UCL"

"Unfortunately I predicted right this time. Happy for Milan - but they have a lot to improve if they want to go further."

GULLIT ANSWERS SUPPORTERS' QUESTIONS

fantasista10 @fantasistaTEN

@Heineken Who does Ruud Gullit think the greatest playmaker #10 to grace Europe was?

Gullit: "Zidane was one of the best. Platini. Maradona. #ShareTheSofa

Goal.com @goal_intl

.@Heineken Do you think Mario Balotelli is special enough to inspire this Milan team to future success?

Gullit: "No, not because he can't - but 'cos he can't do it constantly, like Messi or Ronaldo. But he's still young."

The 4th Official @_4thOfficial

@Heineken if you took Ronaldo out of the Madrid team and Messi out of the #FCB line up who in your opinion has the better team

Gullit: Good question - really tricky. Real have more individuals who can decide a game. Barca have more players drilled in playing a certain way

GULLIT'S VERDICT

"If Milan had played against a better team they'd have been slaughtered."
