Goal.com spoke with Nigerian goalkeeper and stand-in captain Vincent Enyeama after their 1-0 win over Burkina Faso in the final of the 2013 AfconNigeria stand-in captain Vincent Enyeama told Goal.com that winning the Afcon trophy is a dream come true.
Enyeama was outstanding for the Super Eagles throughout the tournament and was happy to have landed a trophy that every African player wants to win.
"Every player wants to win the Afcon trophy and we did it. I am very happy. I don't know what more to say," Enyeama told Goal.com.
Following the uncertainty over coach Stephen Keshi's future as a coach of the Super Eagles, Enyeama revealed that all the players are happy with Keshi, and that they wish he continues with the good job that he has done. However Enyeama admits that the players will not have a say over the future of Keshi.
"The players are happy with the coach. We want him to stay on as coach, but in the end it's not up to the players to decide whether he stays or leaves," he said.
Keshi became the second footballer to have won the Afcon gold medal both as a player and a coach, following Egyptian Mahmoud El-Gohary who won it as player in 1959 and as a coach in 1998.
