Super Eagles could face the Stallions in the Afcon final on Sunday, without slightly injured Emmanuel Emenike. Or is it part of Keshi's tactics to give Burkina Faso false hope?
The Super Eagles’ medical team is working around the clock to ensure that two of their important players in Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike are fit for the Afcon final against Burkina Faso at the National Stadium on Sunday.
Moses and Emenike did not train with the rest of the team on Friday, and there is a fear that the duo will not be fit enough to face the Stallions.
However, Moses, who scored two penalties when Nigeria beat Ethiopia in Rustenburg, revealed on his twitter handle that he is currently under treatment and should be fit for the final.
“Lot of people asking about my injury, I’m having treatment and hopefully should be fine for the final,” tweets Moses.
Emmanuel Emenike is believed to be at the hospital after a groin injury he suffered in Nigeria’s 4-1 win against Mali in the semifinals on Wednesday, but like Moses, Emenike is facing a late fitness test.
Emenike has been one of the outstanding players in the Nigerian team so far in the tournament, and he is currently top of the scoring charts with 4 goals in 5 games.
