Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure has told Goal.com that he expects Nigeria to overcome Mali, Ghana or Burkina Faso. The Nigerians shattered his dreams of lifting the Afcon trophy for the first time in 21 years.
“Nigeria was stronger than us, and I am expecting them to win all their remaining games of the tournament. I mean, they are two steps away from lifting this trophy,” said Toure.
The Manchester City defender thinks that Nigeria will be too tough to handle against Mali, because the Nigerian coach Stephen Keshi was once in charge of the Les Aigles.
“Stephen Keshi is a good coach and he has changed Nigeria into a respectable team. I think, he won’t have a problem beating Mali, because he was their coach, he understands their culture,” he said.
Nigeria will take on Mali in the first semifinal of the 2013 Afcon at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Wednesday.
