Goal.com spoke with Bafana fans at the stadium after the host nations dramatic penalty shootout loss against Mali in Durban on Saturday night
Immediately after the South Africa vs Mali match Goal.com spoke with Bafana fans at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Here is what they had to say after the host nation was eliminated from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Pavesan Naidoo: “It was great being here at the stadium, I think this match really united us, as we were all singing Shosholoza together. Bafana played well and they gave it their all."
Ningi Mchunu: “They played well, but I just wish they could have used those opportunities. Every time we fail to score, I am disappointed because I wanted to win so badly."
Mr and Mrs Bastable: “We are happy (with the performance), other than how things turned out. A win would have been great, but the boys fought well and we support them all the way.”
Bongani Mkhize: “We played solid football, and I don’t regret buying the ticket to witness this match. I really enjoyed myself and I am proud of our Bafana team."
Langelihle Mhlongo: “I am disappointed, because we couldn’t score (more) goals, I mean that is what wins matches."
Sabelo Tshabalala: “We now have a team that proved how great it can do. I just hope that we don’t change it too much, but we give the coach and the players all the support that they need. Our boys did well and I am proud.”
