Kwesi Appiah will have something to smile about as sidelined players get a clean bill of health ahead of Saturday's quarterf-inal clash with Cape Verde
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah can breathe a sigh of relief after three of his players returned to full training on Wednesday as they prepare to meet Cape Verde on Saturday in the 2013 Afcon.
Striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom missed out on Black Stars’ group stage matches due to an ankle injury he picked up on the final day of Ghana’s pre-Afcon preparations in Abu Dhabi.
Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso, who was suspended in Ghana’s game against Mali also picked up a knee injury.
Osasuna's Anthony Annan who played little part in Ghana’s opening Group B game against DR Congo has also started kicking the ball.
The trio will continue with training under the supervision of team doctors to monitor their progress ahead of the crucial quarter-final clash with the Islanders.
With the tournament moving into the knockout stage, Appiah and his technical team will be provided with options as they look to book their place in the last four of the 2013 Afcon tournament.
