The Ivorian defender says that the quarter final game against the Super Eagles on Sunday is going to be tough because the opponents are a great team
Cote D’Ivoire defender Kolo Toure has said that Sunday’s quarter final game against Nigeria is going to be tough, an encounter worthy of a final match.
The Elephants drew 2-2 with Algeria in their final Group D game on Wednesday.
“Now we have to focus on that game and prepare ourselves to play well, concentrate and try not to make mistakes,” Toure said.
“It’s a game worthy of a final because Nigeria is a tough country. They have great players, we know them.”
The last time both teams met at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2008, Salomon Kalou scored the only goal of that encounter. The Elephants who are favourites for the title will be hoping to re-enact that score line.
“If we believe in ourselves then we can do it,” said the Manchester City defender.
