“It is great that we have qualified, but I think there is more work to be done. We need to keep on working hard because any mistakes that we do now, will see us out of the tournament,” said Phala.
Phala said he wishes to continue with his impressive performances and also be a significant supplier of opportunities to the strikers.
“We have not really supplied our strikers very well, but I hope that going forward these are things that we must work on if we want to do well. From my side I am willing to give everything for my country,” he said.
Although the Platinum Stars player has been eye-marked for greener pastures following his performance in the national team, the player just wants to focus on his game for now and anything else will come as a bonus.
“It important to focus on the task at hand and that is what I entail doing at the moment. Yes, it is every players dream to get better opportunities, but I believe that it is action that must do the talking,” he added.
The motivation in the Bafana camp is now higher and Phala did confirm to Goal.com that he is getting all the support that he needs from his teammates.
“I don’t think I will be doing justice to myself if I take all the credit. I think that the guys have played very well as a team, and if we can continue being so united then there are greater things coming for us,” he said.
