Following his excellent performances against Angola and Morocco, May Mahlangu told Goal.com that he is hoping to attract potential club offersThe South African midfielder, who plays for Helsingborgs in Sweden, has been seeking a new club for quite some time as he feels he needs a new challenge.
“I am still looking for a new club. I think it is about time that I grow now, and also find new challenges. Whichever club that makes a good offer, I would most definitely consider it,” said Mahlangu.
Mahlangu admitted he still cannot believe that he is making a great contribution to the team, since he only just recently got selected.
“It a great feeling to be in the national team and I am happy with my performances so far. I think it is also a great privilege to be playing at this level and getting to score a goal,” he said.
Mahlangu made his Bafana debut in early 2012 and since then he has never looked back. He said that being part of the team has helped him to grow his game and hopes to continue developing his form.
“At some stage I was watching Bafana on television as a young kid, and now it is all happening to me. I think it is important to stay grounded, work hard and take things as they come.
"Being in the Bafana setup has helped me a lot because they are great guys who always complement me when I am doing well, and always giving advice,” he said.
Despite scoring the first goal for Bafana against Morocco which restored hope, Mahlangu stated that for him the victory was not about the goal he scored, but the team effort and support displayed by his teammates and fans.
“I did not do anything special, but it was a team effort that helped us to progress to the next round,” said Mahlangu.
