Goal.com South Africa caught up shortly with former Chelsea striker, Salomon Kalou immediately after the Elephants beat Tunisia 3-0 in RustenburgAfter trouncing Tunisia 3-0 in their second 2013 Afcon match, Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou told Goal.com South Africa that this year the Elephants worked harder on resolving the mistakes from previous Nations Cup final disappointments.
The former Chelsea marksman played an important role in Ivory Coast's attack at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday evening.
"We couldn't lift the trophy last year, so this time we worked harder and tried to improve on our mistakes," said Kalou.
The 27 year-old currently plays for Lille, in France, and said that they are not going to think about reaching the final of the 2013 Afcon yet. One of the favourites, and already with six points, the Elephants still need to play their last group stage match against Algeria.
"We haven't thought of the final because we have to play Algeria. We have learnt to take it one game at a time and that is exactly what we will be doing until the end of the tournament," said Kalou.
Though, the learnt lessons could only be tested if Kalou and the Elephants do reach the final. They've lost in penalties in finals, so this year they need to go one step further and lift the trophy.
