Appiah's side bounced back from a disappointing draw in their first Group B opener against DR Congo to beat the Eagles of Mali on Thursday.
Mubarak Wakaso's penalty was enough to give the four-time African champions a 1-0 victory over Mali in Group B at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Thursday.
The 51-year-old believes his charges will improve in subsequent games at the continental showpiece.
“Tactically, the team was much disciplined and there was no loss of concentration. We still got a lot to offer and can do better in our next games,” Appiah said.
Ghana will now play Niger in their last Group B match on Monday.
