Former Enyimba and Rizespor striker, Uche Kalu has told Goal.com that the Super Eagles will get the job done by lifting the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kalu who was dropped from the team to the tournament in South Africa because of a groin injury noted that everything is working out well for the team and they are sure of bringing back the trophy.
"I know the players. I have trained with them and there is unity in that team which will translate to a good performance at the Africa Cup of Nations. "There is so much quality in the team and the boys are ready to make a name for themselves with this competition.
"A country like Nigeria should have won the Nations Cup more than two times. There ia also a burning desire among the players to tell the whole of Africa that missing the last edition was not something good.
"I am so sure that the team know what is at stake and will prove bookmakers wrong by lifting the trophy".
Uche Kalu who has scored nine goal this season also revealed that he will soon be back to football action.
"I will be back soon. I am recuperating very fast and I want to come back fast so as to contribute to making sure my team gain promotion to the elite division.
"Since I could not make the team to South Africa, I have told the players to make me proud and I know they will.
"I know that we have a good team and from the first game, they will also make Nigerians proud," Kalu concluded.
The Super Eagles will start their Nations Cup campaign today with a game against the Stallions of Burkina Faso.
