“I am really looking forward to our next match. We need to make sure that we do our best. I am not intimidated by Angola and it would be great to play in that match, but that will all depend on the coach,” said Serero.
The midfielder who plays in Amsterdam, said that not starting the opening match of the 2013 Afcon against Cape Verde did not really affect him, as he knows that he is still going to play in the tournament. Serero came in as a substitute during the second half and his presence was felt, although he could not assist the team to convert opportunities into goals.
“Every player wants to start a match and at times you do become disappointed for not starting. I believe that it all rests on how the coach feels about my fitness levels, but from my side I wouldn't really know how fit I am,” he said.
Serero urged that if he does get an opportunity to play, he will give his all to ensure that the team does well.
"If the coach does give me an opportunity to start the match, I believe that I can make a difference in the team. We will have to wait and see what happens,” he said.
