Mudau: Bafana will improve with support in Durban South Africa caught up with former Bafana player Daniel Mudau and spoke to him shortly about the shortcomings in the Cape Verde match
1996 Afcon winner Daniel Mudau told South Africa he had expected more from the players, but they just didn’t give their all.

“When playing in such a tournament you need to ensure that you convert your opportunities, or else the opponent will take advantage. I think that as much as people are upset about the outcome they need to understand that Cape Verde came out there to fight, and indeed they displayed a good fight,” he said.

Some surprises that were seen was the selection of Lehlohonolo Majoro getting his first start ahead of Katlego Mphela who most people were hoping was going to start the match.

“I think that was the best starting line-up and it was selected on merit. Everything was done for the better progress of the team. I think what Bafana needs right now is moral support and I still believe they will do well in Durban."
