Gordon Igesund was left frustrated after the 0-0 draw at home to Cape Verde. However the Bafana boss is still optimistic that they will improve against Angola and Morocco.
Bafana failed to create any clear scoring opportunities for the entire 90 minutes and Igesund believes that his players were too nervous.
“I am disappointed with the result and I believe that we played poorly in the first half. We lacked creativity in the first 45 minutes because some players never came to the party and that is purely because they were nervous.''
''I have never seen my players this nervous but credit to Cape Verde, although it was clear that they wanted a draw against us,” said Igesund.
Despite failing to score again at home, Igesund assured the fans that there will be goals in the next game.
Igesund highlighted that fans should expect changes in his starting eleven especially upfront where he started with Lehlohonolo Majoro ahead of Katlego Mphela.
“We rushed going forward and maybe we can bring some changes in the next game because some players didn’t rise to the occasion, but there is still six points to play for.''
''I wouldn’t want to say anything negative about my players because there are no easy teams in this tournament,” added Gordon Igesund after the match.
