The Tornado is impressing on the Black Stars playmaker to up his game at the national level since more will be expected of him as he shines at club sideFormer Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has tasked Juventus midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah, to work harder so as to replicate his club form in the Black Stars.
Asamoah, 23 has been a consistent performer at club level from his days at Udinese.
But the former Liberty Professionals player has had his form with the four-time Africa champions come under scrutiny as fans and pundits continue to wonder why his club form is not seen when he is in a Ghana jersey.
Asamoah is one of the players the Black Stars coaches will be counting on to spearhead Ghana to end the 31-year trophy drought during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Appiah, who once played for Juventus, said Ghanaians will definitely see the true Asamoah soon.
“He is an excellent player and with continuous hard work, we will see more of him in the national team,” the 32-year-old told TV3 Sports. “You know there is more pressure playing for country than club.”
Asamoah joined the Bianconneri at the start of the 2012-2013 season after a successful stint at Udinese.
