thumbnail Hello,

Al Ahly, Orlando Pirates join Esperance Tunis and Coton Sport to complete Caf Champions League semi-final quartet

Group A

Zamalek (Egypt) 4-1 AC Leopards (Congo)

Both teams had slim chances of progressing coming into this match, however, hosts Zamalek exhibited a top notch performance, perhaps a warning to other clubs in the country ahead of the new season. They have been eliminated despite their 4-1 win over Leopards, who have also crashed out of the campaign.

Orlando Pirates (South Africa) 0-0 Al Ahly

After carrying off the first leg in style against Al Ahly 3-0 last month, Orlando Pirates were held to a goalless draw at home on Sunday in the reverse fixture by the Red Devils, whose coach Mohamed Youssef had vowed to take his revenge. Both teams progress to the semi-final, with the Egyptians finishing atop of the group with 11 points.

Coton Sport (Cameroon) 1-2 Esperance Tunis (Tunisia)

Visiting Esperance defeated Cameroon champions Coton Sport 2-1 on Saturday to finish the group phase with five wins and 15 points. Both teams had booked their places in the semi-finals ahead of the game. Gharsellaoui put the Blood and Gold ahead seven minutes from kick off, while Akaichi doubled 17 minutes later for the visitors. The Cameroonians had to toil till the 91st minute to record their lone goal that came through Kamilou.
