Pirates coach Roger De Sa believes that they should have beaten TP Mazembe by more than three goals as Bucs took a giant step towards the Caf Champions League group stages
De Sa feels that they should have scored at least five goals which would have made things a lot easier for Pirates going into the return leg in DRC.
“I am just disappointed that we conceded, because in this type of games it is important not to concede. An away goal will give them a little bit to work on and for us to get three,” said De Sa after the match.
“I think it could have been five. It should have been five, but I think as depleted as we are, today’s performance (Saturday) was outstanding from everybody,” he said.
However, the Bucs coach knows that they are in for a tough challenge against Mazembe at home, but he believes that beating their DRC opponents was vital.
“Second leg is going to be very tough, because not every team goes there and get everything, but at least we have got something to take with us,” said De Sa.
He added: “I am very happy with the way we carried ourselves and they way we played, but we have a lot to do because it will be very difficult over there (in DRC).”
