Pirates coach Roger De Sa has praised his players’ mentality in their important 1-0 win over Zanaco FC in the Caf champions league this past weekendFollowing their 1-0 win away to Zanaco FC in the first leg of the Caf champions league, Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa was satisfied with the result and the way his players fought against their Zambian opponents.
The Bucs coach was not so satisfied with his team’s display, but believes that his players were mentally strong on the day. He also believes that winning the champions league is all about grinding results.
“I think the team had the right mentality and that’s why we won. The champions league is won by heart and not by being flashy,” said De Sa.
De Sa has however, warned his players to not get carried away by an advantage they have over Zanaco and as he expects them to come back stronger in the second leg.
“We will definitely not go into the return leg thinking that we have already won the tie. Those guys can play,” he said.
The Pirates coach though was relieved to have come back home with positive results and believes that they have nothing to worry about.
“We won the match and it feels good to get back home with nothing to worry about,” concluded De Sa.
