Symington’s has signed a sponsorship deal with English soccer club Leeds United.

The Leeds-based convenience food group, whose products include Chicken Tonight, Ragu, Aunt Bessie’s and Campbells, has joined the team’s commercial partners programme ahead of the start of the 2013/14 Championship season.

The agreement will see Symington’s Mug Shots brand given primary exposure throughout Elland Road, with prominent signage in the north-east corner of the ground, as well as presence in TV advertising on matchdays and on the club’s digital and social media platforms.

“We are delighted to welcome Symington’s into our growing commercial partners programme,” said Leeds United director of commercial affairs Paul Bell. “Symington’s has a strong portfolio of market leading food brands and is one of the fastest growing businesses within its sector. The company is based in Leeds and is a real success story for the region.”

“Symington’s is proud to have Leeds as our home,” added David Sakefield, “a successful, growing business creating jobs for the people of Leeds in our local community.”

Sakefield also looked forward to the “dawn of a new and exciting era for the club” following Italian businessman Massimo Cellino’s takeover in the spring.

Three-time English champions Leeds United, who finished a disappointing 15th in the country’s second tier in 2012/13, begin the new season away at Milwall on Saturday 9th August.
