Van leasing company Vanarama has been confirmed as the new title sponsor of the Football Conference, the fifth tier of English soccer.
Vanarama will also title sponsor the Conference North and Conference South divisions.
The deal, which sees Vanaram replace online payment provider Skrill as title sponsor, was negotiated by the SportQuake agency.
“With the construction sector predicted to play a major role in the growth of the UK economy over the next few years Britain’s van drivers, our customers, will be at their busiest since the peak of 2007,” explained Andy Alderson, the managing director Vanarama.co.uk.
“Our research shows a clear fit between our customers and football fans UK wide and as soon as I became aware of this unique opportunity to become such an important part of the national game I just had to get involved.”
No financial details were revealed, although the Skrill deal was said to be worth around UK£20,000 per season to Football Conference teams and between UK£7,500 and UK£10,000 to those clubs in the Conference North and Conference South.
