Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Huawei has signed a sponsorship deal with Ligue 1 soccer club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Financial details have not been released but the brand, the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world, will be a partner of the French champions for the next three years.

Huawei will receive ‘official partner’ designation and will supply club staff with smartphones and other hand-held devices.

The company, which has recently signed deals with English Premier League side Arsenal, German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, and the top two divisions in Spanish soccer, joins Emirates, Nike, Ooredoo, QNB, Orange, Citroen, PMU, Go Sport, and BeIN Sport in PSG’s sponsorship portfolio.

“We are delighted to have signed this partnership for the next three seasons with one of Europe’s biggest football clubs. This strategic partnership will help develop the Huawei brand in France and in Europe and show consumers the latest uses and experiences available on our terminals. The values of Paris Saint-Germain, including inspiration, respect, the ethical and the aesthetic, are in perfect harmony with the values of this company since its founding and we are very proud to share this adventure together,” said Song Kai, general manager of Huawei France.
