Harare-based drinks company Delta Beverages has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with South African’s Premier Soccer League (PSL).
According to a statement by the marketing manager of Delta Beverages, Patricia Murambinda, the company will support the PSL financially for the next three years. Financial details of the deal were not released, but will be disclosed before the PSL season starts.
The connection between Delta Beverages and the PSL dates back to 1962, when the company first sponsored the league. In 2003 the company halted their sponsorship of the league and renewed again in 2011 with a three-year deal worth US$600,000.
PSL has been in negotiations with Delta since the end of last season when the contract expired.
As part of the deal signed in 2011 the winners of the league won US$70,000 and the runners up received US$50,000.
