European soccer champions FC Bayern Munich have agreed a partnership with Samsung to help launch the ChatON messaging platform.
The free service will feature the latest news from the German giants, while users will also have access to official Bayern images and emoticons. Samsung, already an official sponsor of the club, will also run Bayern-related promotional offers and discounts through the service.
ChatON, which will be available in 68 languages and 200 countries across multiple mobile and online plaforms, is being launched this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with the help of Bayern midfielder Mario Götze.
“We are delighted to partner with FC Bayern Munich and to support the fans’ experience,” said Lee Epting, the vice president of the Samsung media solution centre in Europe. “ChatON will offer customers an engaging experience around sports, something that they can expect to see more of in the future.”
Bayern Munich are 19 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with 22 games played in the 2013/14 season, while they will be defending a 2-0 lead when they welcome Arsenal to the Allianz Arena for the second leg of their second round Uefa Champions League clash.
