BBVA Compass has signed a five-year sponsorship deal as official jersey partner of the newly formed women’s soccer team Houston Dash.
The Dash, the USA’s newest women’s professional team, will compete in the National Women’s Soccer League in the 2014 season.
The sponsorship deal will see BBVA Compass’ logo appear on the team’s jerseys which they debuted on Friday 7th February at the BBVA Compass Stadium.
The bank also sponsor the Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo who play at the same stadium.
“The Dash athletes are exceptional role models for our city, and it is a great honour to see our logo on their jerseys,” BBVA Compass Houston City president Mark Montgomery said.
The partnership will also see the bank work with the Dash on several community projects, including hosting a youth soccer clinic in the Houston’s east end which will help introduce Houston’s newest sports team to the city.
Managing director of the Dash, Brian Ching added: “BBVA Compass has always been a tremendous sponsor of the Houston Dynamo. We’ve formed a great partnership over the years, so we’re excited to make the Houston Dash a part of it. I can’t think of a better company in Houston to be associated with.”
The Houston Dash is owned by the Dynamo ownership group and operated by Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo.
