Hamburg SV partners Xbox One for new competition

Microsoft has joined forces with German Bundesliga soccer side Hamburg SV to launch a special competition centred on the new Xbox One games console.

Microsoft has joined forces with German Bundesliga soccer side Hamburg SV to launch a special competition centred on the new Xbox One games console.

The competition will see a two lucky Hamburg fans given front row seats at the Imtech Arena for the match against FSV Mainz 05 on 21st December. This will allow them to experience the match on from the perspective of the club’s manager Bert van Marwijk. During the game’s half-time break the competition winners will take on a Hamburg professional on the Xbox One console.

“We are delighted to welcome Microsoft and its Xbox product as a global player into our partner family,” commented Rouven Kasper, the senior director of SportFive Team HSV.

Joachim Hilke, the executive vice president of marketing for Sportfive, Hamburg’s marketing agency, added: “Microsoft is a world-renowned and reputed company and we are very happy about the cooperation. Our joint work has great usefulness for both partners. We look forward to the joint projects.”

HSV suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of reigning Uefa Champions League champions Bayern Munich in their last Bundesliga outing on 14th December.
