Sportswear company Adidas has agreed a “long-term” deal to provide the playing kit for Spanish Primera División club Osasuna.
The agreement begins with the 2013-14 season and will run through to the end of the 2016-17 season, although there is an option to extend the deal. Adidas will replace fellow sportswear brand Astore as the football club’s kit supplier. Osasuna finished 16th in the Liga last season, three points clear of the relegation zone.
“This is an honour for us because we have linked up with a historic club,” Luis Cano, director of sponsorships at Adidas Spain, said. “I would highlight the professionalism of the people of Osasuna… I am convinced that the agreement will be very beneficial to both parties. It is an agreement, for the moment, for four years, but Adidas believes in long-term relationships and therefore if it is a beneficial relationship it will continue for many years.”
Osasuna marketing director Miguel Bados added: “I want to emphasise that we have found a brand that really has a strong commitment to the club. From the start, it has been about actions and not just words. Today is the beginning of a major commercial collaboration.”
