Lloris: France need early goal against Georgia

The former Olympique Lyonnais shot stopper expects a difficult match, and hopes that his side can grab an early lead
France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has warned that Georgia will not be pushovers in Friday evening's 2014 World Cup qualifier and hopes that an early goal can help les Bleus to the full three points.

The Tottenham man realises that his side approach the match as favourites, but has insisted that the Eastern Europeans should not be underestimated.

"On paper, we are the favourites to win this game, but we will have to confirm our status on the pitch," Lloris told RMC.

"It would be a huge help if we score an early goal. They will keep a lot of men behind the ball and stay organised.

"This match is a must-win for France. It will not be easy, but we are wary."

France currently sit joint-first in Group I with seven points from three games, with Georgia in third.
