The head coach of SuperSports United Calvin Johnson has lauded Ghanaian midfielder Edwin Gyimah after his impressive comeback from a nagging injury.
The midfield enforcer has been on the sidelines for a month and made a return over the weekend when his side drew 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic.
“It looked like Bennie was running out of steam a little bit,” Johnson told Sports24.
“We brought on Eddy to sort of close the midfield and we wanted Thato Mokeke to go forward as a false winger. It did work as he had a strike at goal and, in another instance, he opted for a pass when he could have taken a shot.”
The former Wa All Stars player is hoping to make Ghana’s World Cup squad.
