Senegal snub Demba Ba once more in squad

The Chelsea striker did not receive a call up to the Senegal squad to face Cote D’Ivoire in their World Cup playoff return leg

After missing out in the World Cup playoff first leg between Senegal and Cote D’Ivoire last month, Chelsea striker Demba Ba will not be participating in the return leg as well in Casablanca, Morocco on November 17.

Senegal coach Alain Giresse did not include Ba in his new squad to face the Elephants, spurning calls to include more experienced players to confront the star-studded Ivorian outfit.

Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara was also dropped but Zarko Toure, Mame Birame Diouf and Pape Kouly Diop have been included.

The Teranga Lions suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first leg in Abidjan last month, and will be hosting the reverse fixture far away from home in Casablanca following Fifa / Caf’s one-year ban on their home ground in Dakar.
