Ghana midfielder Isaac Cofie says it feels good to make a return to Genoa.
The 21-year-old joined the Red Blues on a three-year deal last month from Chievo where he made a huge impact in the Serie A.
Cofie has represented Torino, Piacenza, Sassuolo and Chievo after he first arrived at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in 2010.
He told Goal Ghana that it feels refreshing to make a return to the side that gave him the opportunity to light up his European career.
“It is a massive achievement to be back here again, the feeling is good and I can’t wait to get the season off and running,” Cofie said.
Cofie, who has made one senior team appearance for the Black Stars, has vastly developed during his three-year stay in Italy.
He added: “When I first arrived at this club it was quite difficult because I had no European experience but with the job that I have done over the three-year period I think it is time to show my quality.”
“My aim is to play regularly for this great club, I saw some games for Chievo last season and it’s my aim to improve and go a step further.”
Genoa are currently in Austria for pre-season ahead of the new campaign. The Red Blues finished 17th on the Serie A table last season and will be pushing for an improved performance next term.
