Ghana youth striker Ebenezer Assifuah has revealed the secret behind his goal scoring form at the Africa Youth Championship and the just ended Fifa Under-20 World Cup.
The 20-year-old usually hops onto the field with his right leg before kickoff of every game. He has told Goal Ghana that brings him a lot of luck ahead of the game.
"I have been doing it since Colts football time and it brings me some sort of luck, that’s why I continue to do it,” Assifuah said.
“Some players kneel and pray, others raise their hands in the air and pray to God and for me although I pray, one thing that has also helped me is to hop with my right foot to the pitch and it brings me luck.”
Pushed further if he did that in the Black Satellites' first two games at the Fifa U-20 World Cup in Turkey 2013, the free-scoring player said: “You know I forgot to do it in our first two games and maybe that’s the reason I didn’t get the goals but it’s really nothing."
"I think it brings me luck and wherever I find myself I will continue to do it,” he added.
