thumbnail Hello,

Goals from Mwape, Chisenga and Mulenga wrapped up a comprehensive win for the Cosafa Cup hosts, who will face South Africa in the semi-finals

Zambia have surged into the semi-final round of the 2013 Cosafa Cup with a 3-1 win over Mozambique in Kitwe.

Two first half goals from Bornwell Mwape and Jimmy Chisenga were added to by a 79th minute Mukuka Mulenga strike. Mozambique were able to pull one back via Apsone David Manjare, but it was too little, too late.

Mwape opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 11th minute of the match, as Zambia dominated the early stages of the contest.

Chisenga added to the goal tally with a thunderous free-kick in the 27th minute to make it 2-0. The first half ended with the same scoreline.

Zambia continued to be the better side as the match neared completion as Mulenga struck after making a run into the box and hitting a near perfect volley into the back of the net.

Another excellent goal ensued as Manjare whipped in an overhead kick to put Mozambique on the scoresheet, but nothing could stop the hosts of the Cosafa Cup from setting up a clash against South Africa in the semi-final stage of the tournament.
