The junior Pharaohs coach has stepped down following his side’s debacle at the ongoing World Youth Championship in Turkey
Egypt Under-20 national team coach resigned on Monday after his team failed to progress from the group stage at the ongoing Fifa U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
Rabiu Yassin handed his letter of resignation to the Football Federation which immediately accepted his decision, an official of the body said.
The junior Pharaohs, who won the 2013 African U-20 Championship last March to book their place in the finals, lost their first two games against Chile and Iraq. They saw off England 2-0 in the groups last match day, but fell short of a qualification to the knockout stage.
Egypt and Mali are the two African representatives to leave the competition at this stage while Nigeria and Mali progress to the next round.
