The Ayew brothers are back

The Marseille players met with President Mahama today and after persuasion have decided to return to the Black Stars

Olympique Marseille duo Andre and Jordan Ayew have rescinded their decision to quit the Black Stars.

The sons of Ghana football legend, Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ said they are now available for selection after meeting with Ghana President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday.

Goal Ghana understands the midfielder and striker used the opportunity to outline their qualms with FA officials to the president, who assured them all efforts are being put in place to rectify whatever issues they have with the Ghana FA.

The Ayews, who assured the president of their commitment to help Ghana gain its third successive qualification to the World Cup, are expected to officially announce their return to the national team soon.

Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah and Ghana FA vice president Fred Crentsil were present at the meeting held at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

The Marseille duo temporarily retired from the Black Stars after they were overlooked by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations which was held in South Africa.

Andre claimed he was unhappy with some of the management members of the Black Stars team whiles his junior brother in a statement insisted he wants to be guaranteed first team place after being excluded from the squad.
