The newly appointed manager has invited four more players to his outfit ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches
Cameroon have summoned four more players to camp for their World Cup qualifying fixtures against Togo on June 9 and DR Congo on June 16.
Newly appointed coach Volker Finke told reporters on Monday that he needed to beef up his setup for the forthcoming meetings.
Three regulars William Overtoom of Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, Jacques Zoua of FC Basel and Leonard Kwekeu from Sparta Prague return to the fold while German-born defender Marvin Matip of Bundesliga 2 side Ingolstadt 04 will be making his first appearance with the Indomitable Lions.
In an official statement, the Cameroon Football Federation said it was imperative to invite the four players after close to nine others failed to show up for the goalless friendly against Ukraine on Sunday in Kiev, where the group will fine tune before flying to the Togolese capital Lome by midweek.
Samuel Eto’o is expected to lead the team to the qualifiers, as Cameroon hope to consolidate their pole position of Group I with 6 points, ahead of Libya (5 pts), DR Congo (4 pts) and Togo (1 pt).
