The Frenchman will leave the Eagles next month for the Corbeaux following the resignation of the club’s Senegalese coach Lamine N’Diaye
DR Congo champions TP Mazembe have announced the signing of Frenchman Patrice Carteron as the club’s new coach after Senegal’s Lamine N’Diaye resigned last week followoing the Corbeaux’s failure to qualify for the group stage of the 2013 Caf Champions League.
Mazembe’s management says Carteron, who is currently Mali’s coach, signed a two-year contract and will resume work after leading the Eagles to their next two matches on June 9 against Rwanda and June 16 against Benin in the 2014 World Cup qualifying.
Carteron joined Mali from French side Dijon in July 2012, leading the West African side to retain their bronze at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
N’Diaye has been named as sporting director of the 2009 and 2010 Caf champions.
