Al Ahly name Mohammed Yousef as new coach

The reigning African club champions have found the successor of Al Badry who resigned from the outfit this week

Egyptian giants and African champions Al Ahly appointed Mohammed Yousef as interim coach on Wednesday following the departure of Hossam Al Badry, who has signed with Libyan side Ahly Tripoli.

The Cairo-based club said Yousef will lead the team to end of the season, before a decision will be reached whether to hand him a permanent role or not.

Yousef, 43, played for Al Ahly in the 1990s. He was also a member of Egypt’s squad that won the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations in Burkina Faso.

He had been working as an assistant coach.
