The Ghanaian coach is certain his side will sail through in the African U17 tournament in Morocco despite that 6-1 annihilation by Nigeria in their opening game SundayThe coach of Ghana’s Under-17 side Paa Kwesi Fabin has assured Ghanaians the Black Starlets will recover from the shocking 6-1 defeat against Nigeria.
The Golden Eaglets thrashed the Black Starlets in their opening Group B game in the African Junior Championship on Sunday in Morocco.
A visibly mesmerised coach Fabin in a post-match interview admitted his strategies backfired against their west African neighbours, but guaranteed Ghanaians things will work out in their next game against Congo.
“We have to regroup and try to salvage our campaign to reach semi-finals but now we can only look ahead to one game at a time,” Fabin said. “So we need to have a look at how we approached this game because our tactics and set-up did not work today [Sunday].”
He added: “Our focus shifts to the next game against Congo and not the one beyond that. And little by little we will see if we can recover from today’s set back.”
